The heartline begins under your pinky, (called Mercury in Hand Analysis), and moves toward your thumb.  The destination of that line indicates which heart line type you are.

There are 4 basic heartline types which I define by the element that most characterizes the qualities of each line. You could have different heart lines on each hand and even more than one heart on one hand.

You could have Fire, Water, Air or Earth heart lines. Each has it’s own non-negotiable need, communication style, gifts and challenges. It is your job to know those needs and take responsibility for filling those needs every day to be happy.

Fire heartline’s non-negotiable need is passion. This person needs passion in work, hobbies, relationship every day. Fire heartlines are busy all the time and hates boredom.

Water heartline is all about connection, in fact, that is the non-negotiable need. This person is emotional loving person who expresses feelings easily.

Air heartline is a visionary who spends a lot of time thinking – even thinking about feelings. The non-negotiable need is meaning. Must have meaning in work, hobbies and/or personal relationships everyday.

Earth heartline’ non-negotiable need is freedom. This person needs to have own quiet time every day to be happy

Knowing your own heartlines and the heartlines of the people close to you could make a very big difference in the way you interact.  Understanding that we are all wired to have certain communication styles, different ways of giving and receiving love, and non-negotiable needs that drive us, allows us to have compassion for each person’s life journey.

Although I didn’t come up with this, I think it’s SO accurate when it comes to describing the meaningfulness of Hand Analysis.

"Thumbs up"

The thumb represents your will and determination, as well as how you shape, control and dominate your environment – or not.  Even our language reflects these notions: “under my thumb,” “rule of thumb,” “thumbs up,” ….along with the related directive, “Get a grip!” – used when you’re feeling out of control and a bit shaky with a situation.

If you have a flexible thumb, one that can bend back quite a bit, you’re probably someone who goes with the flow – like a willow tree bending in the wind.  And then there is the really bending-over-backwards thumb – the person who bends the world to his/her way.

On the other side of the spectrum, the person with a stiff thumb, with little or no yield, is assertive and self reliant.  They stay the course – like an oak tree that does not bend in the wind.  This person also tends to be trusting only of himself or herself.  People who believe “if you want something done you must do it yourself” probably have stiff thumbs. I happen to have a very stiff thumb and have been called stubborn.  But that knowledge allows me to work around it…most of the time.

Then there is the “angle of opposition” to consider.  As you hold your hand up in a natural position, the angle of opposition refers to the distance between your thumb and the palm of your hand.  Try this exercise to determine your angle of opposition:

Relax and shake out your hands.  Hold them up naturally, looking at your palm.  Is the space between your thumb and palm narrow or wide?  Someone with a wide angle, as wide as 90%, is the person who is going to be happiest with taking on a lot of responsibility, like the CEO of a big company, or tending to a large garden. The narrower that angle between thumb and palm, the less responsibility the person wants.

It would be a mistake to interpret these meanings as good or bad.  They simply give us a better understanding of why we do what we do. Thumbs are only one piece of the whole picture of your life direction and clear purpose.

In a comprehensive Hand Analysis reading I look at all the pieces of information in your hand:  the overall shape of the hands, the shape and length of your fingers, your hand’s texture and color, of course the lines and creases, and much, much more.  They all thread together to reveal your personal life story.

This is what I do.  It’s my own life purpose, and makes a difference to the clients I help.

I have to keep reminding myself that I am not in charge here, that there is something much larger than me directing this show. The best I can do is observe what is going on around me – without judgment, and have some awareness of my innate stubbornness seducing me away from my challenges rather than going forward to meet them head on.

The blocks – that is where my attention needs to be. It seems that I need to recognize and move through the hard stuff, like fear of rejection and connecting more authentically with each person I meet. I am beginning to see that is the pathway to the fulfillment I am yearning for.

2011 is the year I will have the inspiration, the openness and self compassion to follow through and get to the other side of my personal challenges.

The promise of the unopened pink box – an excitement about what is in the box and looking forward to enjoying the tasty treat holds the attention of everyone present. The lid of the box is lifted with great anticipation only to find the box empty. There is only the brown cardboard interior . What a disappointment!
The pastry box metaphor was used about our relationship by a man I was with many years ago, and I recognized the truth of it. The relationship which had been so much fun, exciting and so promising had become plain brown cardboard.

I have wondered many times how that happened and have now come to understand that neither of us had any idea what we, personally, needed from each other, or even how to communicate – with each other or even ourselves, for that matter.

Now we all know how vitally important to a relationship that each party knows who they are, knows what they need and what they want.. And then to be honest with themselves and with each other about feelings.
This is a reminder that we must be true to ourselves, to be who we really are. Being able to ask for what we need, and keep our hearts open to experience all our feelings, even the difficult ones is what keeps all of our relationships, especially with ourselves, wonderful and alive.

Recently I have learned that collaboration with other people in business is so much fun!! I have joined forces with two beautiful and intuitive woman. Isabelle Choiniere-Correa is a clairvoyant tarot reader and Numerologist; Michelle Hobart is a very sensitive Astrologer and Energy Worker; and me, a Life purpose Hand Analyst. We call ourselves the OptiMystics. We each have a prospective from our own modality which is very compatible and supportive of each other’s work. This is a perfect collaboration.

We each continue to promote and grow our own businesses, and even that is enhanced by having each other in our lives. Everything we do together impacts all aspects of our businesses. Sharing the work, having others to brainstorm with, makes such a difference. Talking, laughing, sharing talent and contact lists – creating business under these conditions is so much fun.

The swimming analogy is meant to say that your ‘school’ – the feelings, the style, the paradigms, defined by the life school you are in – permeates everything in your life.

Of course, we do relate to all of the Life Schools of Hand Analysis in some way or another, but do not experience it the same as the person who is predominantly in that school. The information in your palms is about personality, nervous system, motivation, etc..

For example, the heart line tells about our style of love and relationship, and the head line indicates how we process information.

The system of deciphering the code of finger print patterns was discovered by Richard Unger, who continues to research and work in Marin County, California.  While studying medical records, and reading thousands of pairs of hands, followed by studying every known palmistry traditions, Mr. Unger discovered the system we now refer to as modern hand analysis.

The basis of the system for decoding finger print patterns has four schools: Service, Love, Wisdom and Peace.  We are all at the university of life and we each specialize in one school, or a combination of  two or three schools for some people.

Your school permeates your whole life, colors everything you do, think, and feel.  If I use the analogy of swimming,your particular  school, as indicated in your hand, is like the water you swim in.
